What is Weatherization and Why Should You Do It?

What is weatherization?

The weatherization of your home is a process that involves adding insulation and caulking around doors and windows to keep heat in during the winter and cool air in during the summer. This prevents energy waste and can save you up to 15% on your electric bill!

Air sealing doors/ eliminating drafts (doors, windows, attic hatches, wiring holes, electrical outlets, plumbing vents, and recessed lights) , caulking and weatherstripping and using door sweepers to keep heating and cooling inside the home, clean air filters as well so your HVAC system doesn't work as hard. Save up to 15% on your electric!

Air sealing is a method of weatherizing homes that involves filling gaps around windows and doors with foam insulation or caulk. This prevents warm air from seeping out of your home through these areas in cold months or cool air from trickling into it during hot ones. You can also use some other materials like foam board insulation sheets to close up the gaps where pipes enter into your walls or floors respectively – this will not only improve comfort levels but also save money since you will be using less energy when it comes time for electricity bills! As an added bonus: cleaning out clogged filters can help reduce allergies too by removing dust particles that may cause respiratory problems for allergy sufferers living in humid climates with lots of mold spores in them (like Florida).

Better for the environment and will save on your energy bills!

  • It's better for the environment, as it reduces your carbon footprint.
  • You'll save money on energy bills in the long run, which is good for both your wallet and the planet.
  • It will reduce the need for heating or cooling throughout your home, saving you money on utility bills each month.

Conclusion

So, there you have it: what is weatherization? In short, it’s a great way to save money on your energy bills, reduce your carbon footprint and make your home more comfortable and healthy.

There's something magical about watching your children grow, from their first uncertain steps to their confident, chaotic sprints through the hallways. When you first brought your little one home, the space you had might have seemed more than ample. Your living room was a castle, and the backyard a vast kingdom. Yet, as the years fly by, that once spacious home begins to feel more like a cozy cottage—charming but decidedly cramped. As your child hits milestones, such as turning five and starting school, you might notice they need more room to explore, play, and simply be a kid. This can be a clear signal that it’s time to consider upsizing your home. This blog will talk about how to recognize when your family might need a bigger space and how to take those next steps.
