What a winter we have had right?
Now that the snow is starting to attempt to melt, it is time to take inventory of your exterior and prepare for spring… gosh that feels good to say. Spring is truly around the corner, I can feel it
Here is your mini checklist:
Check your gutters. There will most likely be some sort of gutter damage from all the ice. Fix bent, broken pieces to prevent water damage from heavy rain in the spring.
Check your siding, soffits, and other areas for damage. Prepare a checklist of items to remediate come spring.
Check your decks for peeling paint and rot.
Paint is your friend. If anything above is missing paint, please don’t wait. Paint= rot prevention. It will cost a lot more to fix once it has rotted out.
Change your filters and clean air vents inside your home… when they are clogged with gunk, you pay more in energy costs and breath in ick.
Check your batteries. Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors should be tested 1-2x a year. Make sure those batteries are good to go.
Clean up from any ice damns you encountered from the storm (reach out if you don’t know what I am talking about and I will explain)- don’t just trust things dried out. You don’t want to risk mold. Have a piece of drywall taken out to ensure no mold, and then patch and paint.
Use these last few colder days to assess your windows and doors for drafts. You can feel it much easier in the cold weather. Anywhere feel colder than anywhere else? Add it to your project list to replace to save you energy next winter!
Dream and plan your garden. Plot it now, so you know where things will go so we can get on track as soon as the weather allows.
TREES… Spring is the time to plant them. If you want to add any, start planning now. If you need a local arborist or expert, reach out and I will get you to the right person!

Lighting is one of those things you don't think about until it's wrong. Bad lighting makes cooking harder, working from home a headache, and relaxing at the end of the day nearly impossible. But the right lighting? It transforms how your home looks, functions, and even how much you spend on your electric bill.

Growing up as a contractor's daughter, I was immersed in the world of construction and renovation from day one. Weekend trips meant walking job sites instead of playgrounds, and dinner conversations revolved around square footage, structural integrity, and the satisfaction of transforming something overlooked into some
