Home buying? Here are the top home buying tips

So you have decided to buy a house? Congrats! that is huge. Now where to you begin? First, location. Do you need to live close to work? do you want to live close to family? or both? this is why many people love living in Westchester County. it is family friendly and a hot, skip, and a jump away from NYc and Boston.

where to begin

You’re ready to buy a house. Congratulations! You’ve made an important decision and you should be proud of yourself. Remember, though–the buying process is long and often frustrating. You might think that the house itself is the most important factor in whether or not you buy a home, but actually it’s just one of many things to consider.

The location of your new home will affect your commute time (and stress level), how much work you have to do on major repairs (or if any), how much yard maintenance is required, and more. So here are my top tips for thinking about what kind of community (and even city) will fit your needs before jumping into buying:

does the vibe of the town fit with yours?

When you're buying a home, the vibe of the town is an important factor to consider. The "vibe" of a town is how it feels and whether or not it fits with your lifestyle, personality and values. It can have an effect on your family as well, so it's important that you consider this when you're looking at homes in different areas around the country.

If you want to live somewhere with lots of nature but still be close enough for work or entertainment options (such as parks), then look for towns where there are lots of trees and open spaces around them—like those near lakes or rivers! If this isn't your idea of paradise though—then don't worry about finding a place where everything seems perfect all day every day; there are plenty more options out there than just those two extremes either way!

This is why a lot of families move to Westchester County from NYC. They love what Manhattan has to offer, but want to raise their family outside of the city. They move to the suburb to slow down.

You can update the house, but you can’t move it to a different location.

If you don't like the town or community where your new home is located, there's nothing that can be done. You may want to consider this when choosing between two homes in different areas of town--the one with nicer landscaping might be preferable for its proximity to parks and trails or other amenities such as grocery stores or restaurants that aren't within walking distance from other options.

Here is a list of easy upgrades to keep in mind:

-Front door

-Landscaping and curb appeal

-Painting inside the house or outside

-Adding a textured wall

-Adding a garden

Local hospitals

Hospitals are important! If you have kids, have a preexisting condition or a parent living with you, it's worth checking out the specialties and level of trauma unit at nearby hospitals. And don't forget about proximity. You may want to live close enough that an ambulance can get through traffic quickly if something goes wrong--but far enough away that it doesn't take long for them to arrive at all times.

Check out the local hospitals in Westchester Country and surrounding areas.

Why Westchester?

Westchester County is home to many of the best things that Upstate New York has to offer. If you're looking for a place where you can enjoy breathtaking views, world-class shopping, and exceptional theater, look no further than Westchester.

Westchester County is an easy place to live with a charming village feel. Our villages are small enough to get around easily, but large enough to have all the amenities you need. Plus, there's plenty of parking and less traffic than in New York City or upstate.

Westchester County is a great place to raise a family. Westchester also offers many community activities for kids. There's even a kids' version of the New York Times called "The Daily Kiddie," where your child can learn about current events from the comfort of their own home! The community works hard to make kids feel included as valued members of Westchester.

I know this can seem overwhelming and like a lot to think about. But, if you're anything like me, once you find the perfect house, it will all be worth it!

There's something magical about watching your children grow, from their first uncertain steps to their confident, chaotic sprints through the hallways. When you first brought your little one home, the space you had might have seemed more than ample. Your living room was a castle, and the backyard a vast kingdom. Yet, as the years fly by, that once spacious home begins to feel more like a cozy cottage—charming but decidedly cramped. As your child hits milestones, such as turning five and starting school, you might notice they need more room to explore, play, and simply be a kid. This can be a clear signal that it’s time to consider upsizing your home. This blog will talk about how to recognize when your family might need a bigger space and how to take those next steps.
