Navigating Real Estate During Divorce: A Compassionate Guide for Westchester Families
Divorce is overwhelming. Between the legal process, the emotional toll, and the countless decisions you're facing every day, figuring out what to do with your house can feel impossible. For most couples, the family home represents not just your biggest asset, but also years of memories, stability, and plans for the future.
When that foundation shifts, it's natural to feel lost.

 That's where I come in.

When that foundation shifts, it's natural to feel lost.

 That's where I come in.

You Don't Have to Navigate This Alone
As a divorce real estate specialist serving Westchester County, I help families navigate property decisions during one of life's most challenging transitions. This isn't just about buying or selling a house—it's about understanding your options, protecting your interests, and moving forward with confidence during a time when everything feels uncertain.

I bring compassionate, expert guidance without judgment. Because you deserve someone in your corner who understands that this isn't just a transaction—it's a major life transition.

When it comes to your home during divorce, you typically have several paths forward:

 Selling the Home

Many couples choose to sell and split the proceeds. This provides a clean break and liquidity for both parties to move forward independently. I can help you understand current market conditions, timing strategies, and how to prepare your home for sale while minimizing stress.

 Buying Out Your Partner

If you want to keep the family home, a buyout might be possible. This involves refinancing and compensating your ex-partner for their share of the equity. I work with you to understand if this is financially feasible and connect you with the right lending professionals.

 Co-Owning Temporarily

Sometimes it makes sense to delay selling—perhaps until children graduate, or until market conditions improve. If you're considering this route, we'll discuss the implications and create a clear plan for the future.

 Understanding Your Equity and Timeline

Before you can make any decision, you need to know what your home is worth and what you'll walk away with after costs. I provide detailed market analyses so you can negotiate from a position of knowledge.

Why Work With a Divorce Real Estate Specialist?

Divorce real estate is different from a typical transaction. It requires:

Sensitivity to Emotions: I understand that every showing, every decision, every signature can bring up difficult feelings. I create space for that while keeping things moving forward.

Neutral, Professional Guidance: I work for both parties fairly or can coordinate with separate agents to ensure everyone's interests are protected.

Coordination with Legal and Financial Teams: Your attorney and financial advisor are crucial partners. I communicate effectively with your team to ensure real estate decisions align with your overall divorce settlement.

Discretion and Privacy: Your situation is personal. I handle every aspect of the process with the utmost confidentiality and respect.

Understanding of Timing: Sometimes waiting makes sense. Sometimes acting quickly is better. I help you understand the market and make strategic decisions based on your unique situation.

 Moving Forward with Confidence

Here's what I want you to know: You will get through this. And when you're ready, you'll find a home that reflects the next chapter of your life—one that's entirely yours.

Right now, my job is to make the real estate piece as clear and stress-free as possible. To answer your questions, advocate for your interests, and help you make informed decisions during a time when you're already dealing with so much.

You don't have to have all the answers today. You don't have to know exactly what you want to do with the house. You just have to take the next small step—and I'm here to walk with you through each one.

This time of year, my favorite places to visit are Harvest Moon and Outhouse Orchards . Have the donuts, find the pumpkins… have the cider for sure at Harvest Moon, and don’t skip the pumpkin cheesecake to go. It is delightful. As the leaves fall- enjoy the crunch, cover your garden beds, and let nature take it’s course. It is good for the environment, and will yield incredible garden results. This is also the time to start taking your plants inside or covering them if you are trying to help them survive the winter. See tips HERE. As for Real Estate… the market is shifting. We are entering a more neutral market. This means we are starting to see inventory stick around. Homes aren’t flying in a weekend- unless they are underpriced or an incredible deal. The important thing- you need a good agent regardless of wether you are buying or selling. Sellers can still clean up if things are done well, and buyers can find a deal if working with the right person. It is anyone’s market for the taking! If you have read all the way through… you get inside info. I am planning an event- so save the date- December 4. Serving: Pound Ridge | Bedford | Katonah-Lewisboro | North Salem | Ridgefield (CT) | and surrounding areas Your Trusted Westchester Real Estate Expert
